Grrrr!!!

OK so it's like 3 days till Xmas and my stupid bank is double dipping for a withdrawal that shouldn't have been taken out anyway. It was an inital $700+ hit and now it's a $1400+ hit. So now I have to call the bank when I wake up and fight with them to give me my money back because they are trying to pay something twice. Grrrr!!! Right now our account is -$200 because of this. I am sooooo mad. What the hell kind of mistake is this? It's bad enough the a--holes Pressler and Pressler took $700+ out the week before Xmas but now the bank has to mess it up and do it twice. I am not finished shopping and now we don't have the money in our account to finish with. I will be taking my business elsewhere after this is over. I can't have them messing things up like this with money. Stupid commerce bank!!!! OK small rant over.
ETA: I spoke to the bank today and they had it fixed in like seconds. So yay to commerce bank today!!

Life Assured Life Insured

Ok, so DH and I had a funeral to go to monday. A very good friend of his died last weds. I had never met the man in person but it was still very sad. Sad for the living people. All his children, his wife, his friends. Death is hard. I lost my grandfather this year and it was devastating. I am still a little in denial and it's been 6 mos. There have also been deaths of several people I knew this year. Ya know, people from my hometown. A lady I used to work with, a sister of a family friend, an ex bosses parent. So life is not assured. So this has me thinking about life insurance. My husband and I should really get some (this post is all completely true but I have to throw in my ads too) Here is an insurance place to get quotes. They have all different types of insurance plans. I think I will be checking into prices soon. I am currently a sahm. I do have my LPN and could get a decent job if something happened to DH but who wants to run out and get a job as soon as a spouse dies? I have two young kids who need me too. So we definitely need some family insurance. If I died I don't know what he would do with the kids. He isn't too terribly great on the parental aspect, I mean yeah he loves them and stuff but I don't think he could care for them alone. So he would need a full time caretaker and me having some sort of plan would help to pay for that. What a horrible and sad thing to have to think about but who knows when our time is coming and we really need to be prepared. Are you? Go to http://www.advantagetermlife.com so I get a little kickback and then I can buy some insurace. :)
Death is sad and inevitable and I am so tired of people in my life dying. I hope next year is death free for me.

Penny for my thoughts

Tonight I found http://www.blogsvertise.com/, this is a company that pays me to talk about things on my blog. So essentially its advertising. Which is fine by me. If blogsvertise.com/ is gonna pay me I will take some time to post about whatever they want. :)
Here is what happens....http://www.blogvertise.com sends you info that they want you to talk about including web addy info and what they want you to cover about the advert. All you have to do is, well write it. Easy huh? Yeah I hope so because this would be an awesome way to make some extra $$ for me to spend on fun stuff, like fluff!!! Back to the info....you register for free on their site. They send you the info, you write it up on your blog and they put $$ right into your paypal account. How awesome is that? I agree, its pretty damn awesome. That's why I am doing it. :)
So all I have to do now is wait for some stuff to write about and get more people to come read my wonderful ramblings. Then....take over the world?? Maybe.....just maybe.

Snow Day

It snowed today. I can't hardly believe it. It snowed more today than it did all last winter, and it isn't even winter yet. Exciting huh? I thought so too. So it snowed from like 11:30 this morning till about midnight. I would say we have a good 3 inches out there. I hope it lasts a day or so. I love snow, it's so pretty and it helps get me in the holiday mood. So maybe someday we will get our decorations up  We did light our Chanukah candles tonight but never got a chance last night. We are working on it. And the girls liked their gifts. Yay! OK, I am tired and rambling. Peace!

Knifty Knitters

So my 9 year old (M) decided she wanted to learn how to knit. Well I want to also. So anyway she bought needles and yarn and a book (which just as well could be written in Tawainese because I don't understand it, even if it does say "beginners" on the cover). So I posted on freecycle and someone gave us knifty knitters. They are awesome. I knitted my 7 mo old(E) a cute little hat and M was working on a hat for herself but it was taking too long and she lost interest so now I am working on a hat for her. Yay!! Love to freecycle and love to knit. I may just become a crafty mama yet. Oh and along with the knifty knitters we got another set of needles, tons of yarn a carrying bag and a book. I am so excited. Weeehaaa!!!
here are some pics of the hat on E and on my mug...lol.

Holiday Decorating

Well, today is supposed to be cleaning and decorating day but DH is sleeping, DD1 is next door playing and I am sitting on the couch holding a sleeping baby. (sigh) I really want to decorate so that it starts feeling like the Holidays but I guess no one else does.
Hey look at this coolness http://www.elfyourself.com/?id=1133375673
Isn't that funny. If anyone else does this post a link in the comments so can see your crazy family of elves.
So Tuesday is our homeschool group holiday family dinner and I'm still not sure what to bring. I'm thinking salad and cookies....that's balanced right....lol.
OK, enough one handed typing for now.

A little info on ME

OK so this is my first blog and it will be pretty random because I have no idea what I should be talking about. So...I will talk about me 1st. My name is Melanie and I am married and have two wonderful, beautiful daughters. My oldest is 9 and homeschooled and my youngest is 7 months and breast fed and cloth diapered. Yay me!! I graduated from nursing school last year with my LPN but haven't worked yet because I found out I was preggo and went through bleeding in the 1st trimester and was put on bedrest. They thought I was losing the baby. So I had a horrible pregnancy but it was all worth it to have this fabulous baby. :)
I am a co-founder of a homeschooling activity group. I started the group with my former best friend who is still the other founder. We have 10 families and it is a wonderful group.
My husband is a "computer nerd" for lack of a better fitting and more accurate term...lol. He runs his own business and is doing great. Yay him!!

My First Post!!!

Wooohooooo!!!!! This is my very first post on my very own blog. Go me Go me Go me!!! OK, I'm over it.
